Speech choir

Don't bother to read this. Ha-ha! This is our piece for the speech choir and I did not post it for everyone, just for my groupmates. It's easier here :p


ALL: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
BOYS: It was empty, / covered with darkness and water.
GIRLS: Then the Spirit of God hovered over the water, and God said,
BOYS: “Let there be light,”
GIRLS: and there was light.
ALL: Then He divided the light from the darkness. / God called the light “day,” / and the darkness he called “night.” / God saw that it was good. / And the evening and the morning were the first day.
GIRLS: Then God said,
BOYS: “Let there be a great expanse of air
GIRLS: to divide the waters below
BOYS: from the waters above.”
GIRLS: And God called the expanse “heaven.”
ALL: God saw that it was good. / And the evening and the morning were the second day.
GIRLS: Then God said, / “Let the water under the heaven / be gathered together / in one place,
BOYS: and let the dry land appear,” / and it happened.
GIRLS: And God called the dry land “earth”;
BOYS: and the gathering together of the waters / He called “seas”:
ALL: and God saw that it was good.
BOYS: Then God said, / “Let the earth produce grass, and herbs, and fruit trees,
GIRLS: all yielding after their own kind,” / and it happened;
ALL: And God saw that it was good. / And the evening and the morning were the third day.
GIRLS: Then God said, / “Let there be lights in the heavens; / and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days, and years.”
BOYS: God made two great lights; / the sun / to rule by day and the moon / to rule by night. / He also made the stars.
ALL: And He set them all in the heavens
GIRLS: (echo) to give light…
BOYS: (echo) to give light…
ALL: upon the earth; / And God saw that it was good. / And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
GIRLS: Then God said, “Let the waters abound with living creatures, / and let birds / fly above the earth.”

BOYS: So God created great whales / and everything that moves in the water, / and winged animals—
GIRLS: all these producing after their kinds;
ALL: and God saw that it was good. / And He blessed them, saying, / “Be fruitful, and multiply.”
GIRLS: (echo) “Be fruitful,…
BOYS: (echo) and multiply!”
ALL: And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
BOYS: Then God said, / “Let the earth be filled with living creatures.”
GIRLS: So He made the animals on the earth, / the cattle, and every thing that crawls upon the earth—
BOYS: all producing after their kinds;
ALL: and God saw that it was good.
BOYS: Then God said, / “Let us make man in Our image,
GIRLS: (echo) in Our image,…
BOYS: after Our likeness.”
GIRLS: (echo) after Our likeness…
BOYS: And the Lord God formed man out of the dust of the ground,
GIRLS: and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
ALL: and man became a living soul.
ALL: So God created man in His own image; / and He created them male and female.
BOYS: God named the first man Adam;
GIRLS: then later Adam called the woman, Eve.
ALL: And God saw everything that He had made, / and it was very good. / And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
ALL: The heavens and the earth were finished, / so on the seventh day / God / ended his work. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy.
